Hydraulic cylinders are one of the many examples of parts you’ll find on the Gorilla Spares website. While they’re pretty basic in design, they perform incredible work. It’s amazing what a few rods, steel tubes, pistons, nuts and bolts can do. Many of the today’s industrial tasks simply wouldn’t be possible if not for these incredible feats of engineering. • Tie-rod – These cylinders are perfect for a wide range of industrial and manufacturing applications because they’re made to handle very heavy loads.
  

• Welded-rod – As the name implies, welded-rod cylinders come with end caps that are welded to the rods. These are typically thinner, shorter tubes than you’ll find in other kinds of cylinders. That makes them great for use in confined areas, where you’ll typically find machines such as forklifts.
  

• Telescopic – You’ll usually find telescopic cylinders in garbage and dump trucks. These cylinders have several tubes that nest inside of each other. The largest tube, or “stage,” will deploy first, then the others follow. Telescopic cylinders lift the body of the truck when they extend, and then, when they retract, the dump body returns to its original position.
