About Eaton & Vickers
Vickers®, manufactured by Eaton Corporation, has been a respected name in the fluid power industry for more than 80 years. The company’s cylinders, valves, vane and piston pumps, electro-hydraulic controls, and filtration products are used in a large number of applications and industries around the globe, including agriculture, construction, mining, forestry, aerospace, truck and automotive, marine and defense.
Eaton is a multinational power management company founded in 1911 in the USA with operational headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio and corporate headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Vickers® became part of Eaton in 1999. Eaton has acquired many related brands but has maintained the original brand names.
Hydraulic Pumps
Headquartered in Macomb, Michigan, our vendor-partner Panagon Systems is the largest aftermarket Vickers hydraulic pump manufacturer in North America.
Panagon manufactures hydraulic piston and vane pumps that are an exceptional blend of American manufacturing quality and value. Their products are highly reliable and well known throughout the hydraulics industry.
The pumps are 100% “plug-and-play” interchangeable with Vickers, Eaton, Rexroth, Caterpillar, Bosch. Denison, and other OEM pumps, and often exceed Eaton and Vickers’ quality standards for flow, pressure, and efficiency.
Hydraulic Valves
Directional control valves are a fundamental part of hydraulic systems. They control the start, stop, and change in the direction of the flow of hydraulic oil. They are also called switching valves.
The function of a directional control valve is determined by the number of working ports and the number of spool positions. A directional control valve is made up of at least two spool (switching) positions and two working ports. The most common is a 4/3-way valve, which means the valve has four working ports and three spool positions.
Gorilla Spares offers hydraulic directional valves and coils that are fully interchangeable with Eaton and Vickers hydraulic directional valves. These parts offer great performance and value.
Hydraulic Cylinders
Hydraulic cylinders consist of a cylindrical barrel, a piston, a piston rod, and mounting accessories. They create mechanical force in a linear motion, i.e., they are used to lift something, push something, or press something, in virtually every industry.
The most common cylinder types are tie-rod cylinders and welded (or mill-type) cylinders. Tie-rod cylinders are typically designed for maximum operating pressure of 3,000 psi. Their advantages include ease of assembly and maintenance, but they are not generally as strong as welded cylinders. Welded cylinders are designed for higher pressures of 5,000 psi or more and are preferred in more-rugged applications such as presses, steel mills, and offshore settings in harsh environments.
