If you are seeking a replacement hydraulic cylinder for your heavy-duty equipment, look no further than Gorilla Spares. The products we carry are tested to OEM specifications, and we are committed to getting you up and running as quickly as possible.
Gorilla Spares carries aftermarket replacement (spare) hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and robotic parts for industrial, agricultural and aerospace equipment.
Our multi-vendor marketplace features manufacturers of high-quality hydraulic products who lack the resources to develop a sustainable ecommerce sales platform. We connect these suppliers with end-users who are looking for their products online but cannot find them via traditional business-to-business sales and distribution channels.
For example. we have partnered with Akaliko, a leading brand in replacement cylinders, for heavy-duty telescoping cylinders that are 100% interchangeable with many brands, including Parker, Commercial, Custom Hoists, Hyva, Mailhot, Fruehauf, Hyco and others, to meet your needs.
Akaliko provides high-quality replacement telescopic cylinders to world class mining and construction firms around the globe and has 10 locations across four continents. Their heavy-duty construction operates flawlessly and reliably even in overload-environments that many dump applications require.
Two Types of Telescopic Cylinder: Which One Do You Need?
Standard hydraulic cylinders are common in applications where high nominal strength and mounting space restrictions are not a concern. Telescopic hydraulic cylinders, on the other hand, are used in hydraulic lifting applications where they can provide sufficient force in a tight space to move large loads.
Telescopic hydraulic cylinders are constructed like a telescope and consist of a series of tubular rods called “sleeves.” The sleeves decrease in size sequentially and are nested inside of one another. They are used in mobile and industrial hydraulic systems, such as dumping, lifting, and applications where space is a consideration. A dump truck, for example, can empty its load and have its dump body return to a horizontal position thanks to the work of a telescopic cylinder.
At Gorilla Spares, you will typically find two types of telescopic cylinders:
- Single-Acting Telescopic Cylinders: This most common type of telescopic cylinder also has the simplest design. The cylinder is extended through hydraulic pressure, while retraction occurs by means of external forces such as gravity or a counter weight.
- Double-Acting Telescopic Cylinders: Double-acting cylinders use hydraulic force for both extension and retraction, making this a more complex design.
Telescopic cylinders perform optimally where rod cylinders cannot. They have the ability to extend further, making them ideal for such heavy-duty equipment as dump trucks, excavators, and garbage trucks.
