Buy Hyva Hydraulic Cylinders
When you need to buy replacement hydraulic cylinders for your Hyva equipment, make Gorilla Spares your first stop! We are not manufacturers and have no brand affiliations, manufacturer ties or distribution agreements. But we will have you up and running fast!
Gorilla Spares carries aftermarket replacement (spare) hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and robotic parts for industrial, agricultural, and aerospace equipment. Our multi-vendor marketplace features manufacturers of high-quality hydraulic products who lack the resources to develop a sustainable ecommerce sales platform.
Our Partner-Vendors
One Gorilla Spares partner-vendor is Akaliko, a leading brand in replacement cylinders. The company manufactures telescopic cylinders with high-quality alloy seamless steel pipe, gantry type linear electroplating, and premium Parker sealing components. This ensures the highest performance, rod protection, and corrosion resistance, and adds up to a product that can withstand the harshest environments and provide you with many years of reliable service.
Akaliko’s hydraulic cylinders are 100% interchangeable with many brands, including Hyva, Hyco, Parker, Commercial, Mailhot, Custom Hoists, Fruehauf, and others. Their heavy-duty construction means that they will operate flawlessly and reliably even in overload-environments that many dump applications require.
About Telescopic Cylinders
As the name suggests, telescopic cylinders are constructed like a telescope and consist of a series of tubular rods called “sleeves” or “stages.” The sleeves decrease in size sequentially and are nested inside of one another. Their greatest advantage is their ability to provide an exceptionally long stroke from a compact initial package.
Telescopic cylinders normally extend from the largest sleeve to the smallest. This means the largest sleeve (which has all the smaller sleeves nested inside) will move first and complete its stroke before the next sleeve begins to move. This process will continue for each sleeve until the smallest-diameter sleeve has been fully extended. When retracting, the smallest-diameter sleeve will fully retract before the next sleeve starts to move. This continues until all sleeves are nested back into the main tube or barrel.
Telescopic cylinders are used when an application, such as raising a dump body, requires a compact retracted dimension, but needs a longer stroke. There are two main types of telescopic cylinders – single-acting and double-acting.
Single-acting cylinders are extended in a single direction by hydraulic force but rely on gravity or an opposing force or weight for retraction. They are generally found on dump trailer and dump truck bodies, where the contents of the bed need to be emptied. After lifting the bed to the proper elevation to dump the material, gravity collapses the cylinder back into a horizontal position.
Double-acting telescopic cylinders are hydraulically powered in both directions – for extension and retraction – making this a more complex design. They are well-suited to refuse trucks, where gravity or external force cannot retract the cylinder.
Telescopic cylinders are most commonly used on heavy construction equipment, but they can also be used on lighter duty applications such as agricultural equipment.
