In 2015, Roboworld Molded Products introduced the world’s first shock-absorbing, chemical-resistant bumper that protects teach pendants from drops, spills, and extreme manufacturing conditions. Their Pendant Armor® is available for a variety of OEM-manufacturers, including ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa Motoman and others, and a wide range of teach pendant models.

Pendant Armor robot pendant bumpers are manufactured from Santoprene™ rubber, making them durable, immune to water and water-based cleaning agents, and features excellent resistance to most industrial lubricants, coolants and cutting fluids.

They are custom-molded to the pendant’s exterior shell, and feature a “stretch-to-fit” installation (similar to a cell phone bumper). Protective ridges are molded around the e-stop buttons and joy stick—but do not interfere with their operation. Access to USB connections, stylus ports and cable pass-through is also preserved.

Features include:

• Aggressively textured to maintain positive grip/feel in wet conditions or in the presence of lubricants/coolants.
• Energy-absorbing frame is perforated throughout for weight-savings and to reduce surface tension/accumulation of fluids.
